truck wheels : If you need to seal an aluminum surface that's been polished and buffed to amirror luster, I don't recommend the Alcoa Sealant because it will slightdegrade the luster. For mirror lusters, my favorite is "Boeshield T-9." It'sa spray on/wipe off product that was developed by the Boeing MaterialsTechnology Labs of the Boeing Company (the airplane dudes). It's nowlicensed to a 3rd party chemical processor/distributor, but has the originalformulation. Depending on the airline, this is the stuff that mysteriouslykeeps commercial and general aviation aircraft mysteriously shiny, yearafter year. Always wondered about that, didn't you? So much for the aluminumoxidation myth. For that use, a guy on a lift is way the hell up in the airapplying the stuff in a fine-mist spray. However, you can buy it inconsumer-sized, aerosol cans as opposed to the standard 5 gallon package. Itwill remind you of spraying WD-40 on something, then wiping off. However, asit's an incredible penetrant, it weirdly keeps the "wet-look" for about 6-9months, again, depending on coastal vs inland use. It takes mere seconds toreapply...no more or less time than that necessary to keep chrome sprucedup. Here you go:

You can just imagine what a"wet-look" shine looks like when applied to an aluminum surface alreadypolished and buffed to a mirror luster extreme. A fly would twist an ankletrying to land on it.Fat Boy and V-Rod (sorry 'bout that) wheels polish and buff out like crazy.When doing the final color buffing, the extreme fineness and hardness of thecompound grit in conjunction with frictional heat, causes microscopicsurface flow of material. The mirror finish results in a much tightermolecular structure that resists oxidation even more. As a matter of fact, 19.5inch wheels would probably be about big enough to mount tractor-trailer tireson. Currently, Dodge offers 16.5 inch wheels...is that what you meant? I know my '53 1-1/2 ton has them that size (or are they20" 5-lug... Will have to look later).I am not really sure. The rims are used to replace late 60's early 70's 17"split rims. It is entirely woodand most of the parts need to be scratch built. I would very muchlike, however, to use "real" wheels. I need ten or so four inchdiameter truck or car wheels, rubber preferred for the tire portionbut can live with plastic too.No hobby shop or toy shop in my city has been able to help me locate asupplier for these, and I was hoping that one of you might know of asource. truck wheels : These are factory wheels from a 97/98? Nissan Pathfinder. Size is 15 x 6.5. They are in excellent condition, only about 400 miles when the owner replaced with aftermarket rims. I purchased them for my 87 Toyota 4Runner but they don't fit. Theboltpattern is the same but the front 4wd locking hub is too large for thewheel. They will probably fit newer 4wd Toyotas which have a smallerhub but you should try them first.I live in Scappoose & work in Beaverton so I could meet you aroundeitherarea with them.These are factory wheels from a 97/98?
