chevy truck parts : During the past couple of years of modifying my 83' Firebird, I have accumulated enough parts that I don't have room to store now.1) Hood: $75 obo metal, no rust, dents, midnight metalic grey paint 2) 3.73 OPEN rear end w/ drum brake: $75 obo it's working perfectly when I swaped in with a posi unit 3) Sway bars front (2) and rear: $20 each OBO one fron and the rear ones are from some Trans Ams, they are big4) Four(4) tires w/ 15" rims: $20 obo there are not much rubber left, but the rims are in good condition5) Front and rear high rate springs: $25 obo I bought the front ones for about $80 new6) ECM unit for the 2.8l Pontiac Iron Duke L4 engine: $15 OBO7) Driver side door, w/ no glass, key hole busted, but otherwise repairable: any price?People who build TALL CHEVY TRUCK pay attention:I have a whole set of Bushwacker front and rear cut-out fender flares for full sized chevy truck 81-89. chevy truck parts : I know its not volkswagen related, but its still a very cool old car. Mydad drove this '54 chevy truck when he was a kid, and after he had beenmarried a few years it broke down. Well it has sat in my parent's back yardever since. My dad passed away a little bit over a year ago, and I've beenthinking that its about time to restore it. I'm wanting to order some parts from the "LMC Truck" catalogbut am concerned that the parts may not be totally compatible with my GMC,since the catalog advertizes itself as Chevy truck parts.The differences between the Chevy and GMC of '71 as far as the naked eye cantell are mainly in the whole front grill area, tailgate and, of course, theemblems. Are there any other differences that are not visibly obvious?Can anyone direct me to suppliers of other GMC-specific parts?This doesn't really answer your question, but when we were shopping for mywife's vehicle (86 S-10 Blazer) I noticed a statement in some Chevy promotionalliterature on the S-10 series that said something to the effect of: "A verysimilar vehicle is sold under the GMC nameplate as the Jimmy." Can you imaginethem saying the same thing about the Camaro & Firebird?The differences are purely cosmetic in the full size truck lines. As longas you are doing mechanical replacements you should be fine, but as you already stated, the grill and such are different.
